A bit about me...

  • I was a software developer before becoming a web developer/user experience designer and then starting my own business.

Classroom rules

Knox 90

Classroom rules - talking

  • When you are working on the computers, provided the teacher is not talking, you may chat quitely with the person beside you. Raise your hand if you need help!
  • When the teacher or another pupil has been given permission to talk, you must listen and not talk

Classroom rules - eating and drinking

  • You are not allowed to eat in the classroom at all. Any food you bring in must be put away in your bag.
  • You may drink bottled water in the classroom, but it must remain away from the computers.

Classroom rules - moving around

  • You must stay at your computer. If you move around the room on your chair or spin on your chair, you will have it removed.
  • If you need to go to the toilet during the lesson, you need to ask the teacher. If you have a toilet pass, let the teacher know before you go!

Classroom rules - phones

  • You are not allowed to use phones in school. Your phone should be away in your bag. If your phone is spotted during class, there will be consequences including having your phone removed.
  • The teacher may give you permission to use your phone in class.

Classroom rules - clean up after yourself

  • Clean up after yourself. if you are given something on paper such as a worksheet make sure you either put it in your bag or give it to the teacher - don't leave it lying around.
  • If you are given something to use such as hardware (a micro:bit for example), ensure you put it back at the end of the lesson.

Three Before Me

The forgetting Curve

Computing is a subject where you try things out over and over again until you get it right and remember it.

Building this resilience is so important in later life.
